Ultherapy is a safe, non-surgical ultrasound treatment that counteracts the effects of time and gravity on your skin. Ultherapy uses the body’s own regenerative response to gently and gradually lift skin on the eyebrow, under the chin and on the neck, and smooth lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.
The only FDA-cleared procedure to lift skin on these hard-to-treat areas. Ultherapy uses the safe, time-tested energy of ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin—including those typically addressed in a surgical facelift—without disturbing the surface of the skin. With just one treatment, the regenerative process is initiated, but the full effect will build gradually over the course of three to six months after treatment. Most patients reported firmer, tighter skin in the other areas of the face and neck as well. During the FDA clinical trials, nine out of ten patients had a noticeable, significant lift of the brow line. This resulted in reduced skin laxity on the eyelid, and a more open, youthful look to the eye overall.
Ultherapy is a specialty treatment for counteracting the effects of time and gravity on your face. The treatment time is usually 1-2 hours and it uses your body’s own regenerative response to gently and gradually restore memory to the skin and underlying tissue. Ulthera actually helps your tissue begin to reproduce collagen, helping you look as best you could!
How does Ultherapy Work?
As with other ultrasound procedures, a smooth applicator placed on your skin projects an image onto a screen that allows your technician to plan where the energy needs to be directed. The same applicator is then used to deliver low levels of focused energy at just the right depth below the skin to achieve a positive effect, all the while leaving the surface of your skin undisturbed. With Ultherapy, there’s no downtime, no foreign substances, no radical change; just a healthy revving-up on the inside for a natural, noticeable effect on the outside.
Ultherapy is a single, 60-90 minute in-office procedure. You may notice a short-term “boost” but the natural process of creating new, more elastic, collagen builds over time—much like the effect that exercise has on building muscle (but without the multiple workouts!).
A good candidate for the Ultherapy procedure is someone with skin that has relaxed to the point of looking and feeling less firm than desired. A lowered brow line or sagging skin of the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of maturing skin.
The Beauty of Ultherapy
Results will unfold over the course of 2-3 months and some patients have reported continued improvement for up to 6 months, including lifting and tightening of the skin on the neck, under the chin, along the jawline, and on the brow. While ultrasound does not duplicate the results of surgery, Ultherapy has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who are not yet ready for surgery.
